500 is my lucky number

I am very excited to report that I am almost to 500 sales on Dethrose!! Once I hit that 500, I will be owing something very special for you all on that day. So please help me hit it!

This weekend I did the huge sale in Elgin Illinois that I was telling you all about a few weeks ago. It was a huge success, great turn out and I sold some really great pieces! It was definitely worth the effort and hard work I put into it. However, I now am currently buried under a ton more work. I have so many new things to post and show you and not enough time in the day. I also haven't felt very camera friendly. Recently clothing is just not fitting the way I want it to:( I am trying to find an exercise regimen I love. I'm not sure this exists but I am determined to find it. I will be posting new things this week, and just to give you a hint of whats to come, lots of 1920's, 1930's and my personal fav, the 1940's! Dresses, blouses, slips and skirts! Not to mention, accessories!!! I am so excited to share it all with you:)

Until then, here are some more photos from last week home. This is my favorite new dress that I recently got from Knee Deep. A 50's silk chiffon dress that I can't help feeling a little Marilyn and a little Grace in.

 Happy Monday!

A bit of house work

I came upon these adorable little Apron dresses at an estate sale a few weeks ago. Both made by the brand Swirl. The Swirl story starts in Philadelphia with the L. Nachman and Son Company, which was located at 10th and Berks Streets. This company had produced clothing since the early days of the 20th century.  By 1940 they were making a product called the Neat 'N Tidy, which was a pinafore apron.  In 1944 the Swirl dress and label were born.  Actually, the Swirl was originally conceived as an apron. When Lawrence Nachman registered the Swirl name with the US Patent and Trade mark office, the product was listed as "WOMEN'S AND GIRLS' WRAP-AROUND APRONS".  The wrap around apron was a common garment of the day. More details of Swirl found HERE.

Originally I was going to keep them but they don't really fit me all that well and I feel there is a girl out there that will love them far more than I ever could. The softest cotton and the most adorable patterns, these dresses are perfect for the Spring and Summer seasons to come!

Light

I was able to go home on a buying trip the past 3 days and just miss the cold front that was moving into Chicago. I found some really great treasures that I can't wait to show you:) There were a couple pieces I found that I just had to go ahead and show you.

Now you know every time I go home I have to take advantage and take a lot of pictures. I was able this time to wake up super early and get to use the amazing light that was coming through the bedroom. I soon as I saw this I knew exactly what photos I wanted.

These are 2 layered 1950's Slips. I found them in a box in someones garage and my heart stopped for a minute. I love them! I feel so glamorous in them.

More to come tomorrow.

Sunday Spring

Over the past couple days it has been so beautiful her. Sunny and somewhat warmer, today however, it faded. I over slept, due to the sun not coming out and the noise of rain trickling down my window. Mackenzie was snuggled up against my side making it so hard to get out of bed.  I decided to pretend it was Spring time anyway and wore a pretty floral dress. I worked at the vintage store today, Krispy Fringe and decided to update my shop with my favorite spring dresses. Inspiration set in and an Easter display was next on the agenda. Here is what came out of my day...

First, Dethrose Shop Update...

 As a full outfit...

And the Table Easter Display...

~Happy Sunday~
