Too Close for Comfort

This is possibly the most surprising outfit post I have ever done. Yes, I am wearing pants. Yes, they are khaki. But today I wanted to mix it up a bit. It was another hot day again here and I went with the comfort of a loose cotton outfit. It IS still however, all from the thrift! Believe it or not, people pay stupid amounts for this kind of ensemble.
White 80s Blouse, Gap Khakis, 70s Woven Sandals, 60s Rope Belt ~ All from a Thrift Shop!
Ok, so then a dance break happened!

 No onto the accessories...
Yellow Sunglasses ~ Shangri-La Vintage
Purse ~ Estate Sale
Wooden Accessories ~ Estate Sale
Who knows, I may just repeat this another day.

Hey Joe

Anyone who knows me is aware of my obsession with Joe Strummer. I'd say it began around the age of 12. I remember the first time I heard the clash, my brother was playing White Man (In Hammersmith) in his room. It soon became my favorite song. That moment was quickly followed by me making my mom take me to the record store to buy my first Clash tee. This began my love affair with the punk wave in the 1970s & 1980s.

If you aren't familiar with Joe, he was lead lyricist, vocalist and rhythm guitarist for one of my favorite British bands, The Clash. He was a brilliant musician, and played a very important role in the British Punk movement in the 70s and 80s. The clash were known for being very political in their lyrics. Joe wrote songs about what he was passionate about, racism, police brutality, unemployment and the basic demise of the world we live in. He was an extremely charitable man and never took advantage of the fame & money. I admire him and his passion. Today Joe would have been 60 yrs young and most likely still trying to make this world a better place to live in, musically and socially.
RIP Joe.
