Rain, Vintage, Antiques and Finally Sunshine...

Sorry for the long absence! It has been almost 2 weeks since my last post, which should prove to you just how busy I have been! Not only has my blog been neglected, but I have also neglected my shop!  No more! This week will be full of post and about 20-40 new pieces added to the shop. I spent today taking photos and I will be hopefully adding them tonight or tomorrow morning.

Why am I so busy you ask? This weekend was the opening day of the Randolph Street Market. My brother and I had amazing new items to show off, so we had spent the last 2 weeks prepping for this huge event. Not only did we have that going on, we also were asked to participate on WGN's midday fix & WIC talking about the Market and promoting Dethrose Vintage!!! I was a nervous wreck and it really didn't help that the news anchor was not prepared at all! My shop is about 2 minutes in...

Watch the WGN clip here:

Our display looked so good and my friend Heather looked absolutely amazing in the 50's Blue Dress. The best part about this weekend was the great feedback my Brother and I received! Everyone adores our booth and are always so amazed by Jon's collection...can you blame them??? Needless to say, despite the awful weather Chicago endured this weekend, our sale was a huge success. People braved the monsoon that hit and supported our little family business and made all the hard work totally worth it! Jon I know you read my blog, hopefully you see Chicago needs us to open up a shop in the very near future;)

I was bummed the dress I had on wasn't shown better but here it is upclose:)

It is such a great space with amazing artists and I have asked some of my favorite vintage sellers to join in the fun. Along with having great vintage spanning from the 30s into the early 90s, there will be 60's films playing on the projection and a great music mix of from Tony Junior.

Cold Front

Thursday here in Chicago was a whopping 96 degrees a slight cold front came through on Friday evening. By Saturday, it was freezing rain with a low of 39!! Really Chicago?!!? I love, love, love this city but come on! Normally, I don't really care enough to complain, but my brother Jon was coming up this weekend for the annual Vintage Bazaar sale in Pilsen. I just wanted the weather to be perfect for his visit and for people to be out and about. I love nothing more than Chicago when its warm, it's therapeutic to be out lunching with friends and walking around this glorious city:) Alas, this was not the case.

Despite the ugly weather, The Vintage Bazaar was a success. I mean, I am a bit biased, I love all of the vendors (my favorite friends;)) and Libby and Katherine just know how to organize a fantastic sale! I was so excited to show off my brother Jon and his wonderful talents! I was so right, everyone went cu-koo over his antique collection! He just has such a great eye for style and design, hopefully he never stops! *hint hint* Jon:) Definitely a fantastic weekend!  See my blog post HERE to learn more about Jon's Collection. And please visit and follow Katherine and Libby's websites, they are both a part of my daily read.

Lastly, I don't have a new outfit post or any new items in the store, so here is more from my trip to STL and Southern Illinois. New things added to DETHROSE this week and maybe even a couple outfit posts.

 Randolph County Lake, Chester Illinois

I was telling Kat how much I love this spot and she caught my funny moment...

 Honey Suckles!

 Running to the boat dock.

Sorry for the grainy photo, the clouds rolled in. But I come to this spot overtime I go home.

It's a place that I spent a lot of time with friends and family with throughout my childhood and teenage years...and my twenties!

 Flashing my cheesy grin!
I am not pointing at anything hahaha, Kat told me to look excited. ;)

The lady behind the camera...my bff Kat...I <3 this pic:)
